About

If you’ve made it this far it’s safe to say that you’re curious about what we are doing here and why. This

idea has evolved and taken on a life of its own, starting with a client discussing his haircut with me and

saying “I don’t know if this makes sense, but can we, like…. fade it forward?” Don’t worry, we got on the

same page about his haircut, but more importantly, “fade it forward” stuck in my mind. I told him I’d

probably use that for something in the future. Initially, I thought maybe a back-to-school event, or maybe a day

designated for shelter visits or something along those lines, but nothing jumped out at me as THE idea.

THEN, one Sunday I was at church and instead of our usual style sermon, we were learning about foster

children in our area. We were given lists of resources and ideas about how to help and were encouraged to

sign up for what spoke to us, if anything, and to let them know if we thought of a contribution that was not on the list.

And just like that, the Fade it Forward lightbulb came on! THIS was the idea! This could be so much more

than a singular event. This can help a lot of people in and around our community.

Whether it’s a school event, a sporting event, a job interview, or simply for self-esteem, people need

haircuts. If you’re doing a delicate dance in the financial department, a haircut easily slides down the list

of priorities. But we don’t believe that means you don’t want one or shouldn’t have one.

So, let’s dive into the thought that it takes a village. Let’s be the kind of village that helps where we can,

when we can, because we can.

Personally, I cannot foster or adopt 100 children like I would love to. I can’t feed all the hungry. I can’t

donate thousands of dollars to the organizations working toward solving these problems… yet. But, dang

it, I can cut hair! I can cultivate a community that can turn these cants into CANs. I can be a catalyst for

positive contributions.

We can all do something to help someone. Let’s do that!

What we are doing here is giving you the opportunity to "sponsor" a haircut for a member of your community (or however many you see fit) by purchasing a gift card to "Fade it Forward". You can provide a haircut to someone who may not have it so easily afforded to them.

If you have a specific friend or family member in mind, you can always follow the standard gift card process and gift it to them directly. If you just want to help anyone, gift the card to “Fade it Forward” and we will take vouchers to school counselors, youth pastors, and other pillars of the community who may directly know the people who can use this kind of help and be able to get it to them directly.
